GN Solids Control

GN solids control implements a recycle, reclaim and reuse tenet, combining our solids control equipment, system and after-sale services. GN solids control facilities are capable of recycling more drilling fluid than our competitors. In the series of solids control equipment, we provide a range of models to meet with different requirement.

A) Shale shaker capacity from 200GPM to 600 GPM suit for trenchless drilling and oil & gas deep drilling. Hammer locking wedge and pretensioned shaker screen reduce the replacing time

B) Mud cleaner is able to remove silt, sand, clay and drilling fluids after shaker process. Large volume and simple assembling reduce the maintenance time and process big volume of drilling fluids

C) Decanter centrifuge is a key unite to remove fine solids control in solids control industry. Also, GN decanter centrifuge plays an important role in the dewatering system. GN supply the 9” bowl for diamond drilling, 14” 18” and 22” bowl centrifuges for a variety of drilling fluids projects.

Drilling Waste Management

Protecting the environment for future generations is a main principle at GN Solids Control GN believed that industrial development should not bargain a prosperous ecosystem. We have dedicated to provide the drilling cuttings waste management system to reduce the drilling footprint on the environment. GN equipment are designed to reclaim the drilling cuttings and reuse the drilling fluids. GN vertical cuttings dryer is able to process 30~50 ton drilling cuttings per hour and oil retention of cuttings is between 3%~5% meet with environmental discharge regulation. GN decanter centrifuge will further recover the drilling fluids and remove the solids from liquid.

Functions of Poor boy degasser for oil & gas drilling

Poor boy degasser, also called mud gas separately, it is a normal equipment in mud solids control system for onshore and offshore rigs. We can see from the name, the main function of poor boy degasser is to separate gas from drilling mud. There normally big quality air bubble in the drilling mud. The air bubble may damage the solids control equipment, like mud cleaner, desander, desilter. Another reason, and the most important reason, there normally dangerous gas consisted in the air bubble, if it is comes out with mud and spread the environment, it will make pollution and hurt the operation people at jobsite.

Different design Poor boy degasser for onshore and offshore oil & gas drilling

There mainly 2 types design Poor boy degasser for onshore and offshore oil & gas drilling.

Design 1: Atmosphere type poor boy degasser

Features of Atmosphere type poor boy degasser: there will be 5~10 m or more longer vent line on top of poor boy degasser. It is used to pipe the gas into the atmosphere directly. 

Design 2: Ignition type poor boy degasser

Features of Ignition type poor boy degasser: Ther dangerous gas in drilling mud is H2S. It is combustible gas. After fire, it changes out to harmless gas and can be discharged directly. There will be 50m ~ 100m vent line to guide the gas to remote area. There will be a flare igniter connected with the vent line and fire the gas while it comes out. 

Flare ignition Device for Poor boy degasser for onshore and offshore oil & gas drilling

As a kind of security and environmental protection device, the flare igniter can be used to make the harmful gas ignited and burned to prevent it pollute environment. The flare ignition device, apart from being used in the refinery and gas distribution station, can be matched with Mud Gas Separator.

Augers Screw Conveyors for Waste Management System

In a complete waste management system in a drilling mud recycling,  besides the main equipment for treating the drilling cuttings like vertical cuttings dryers and decanter centrifuge, one equipment cannot be ignored, which is screw conveyor, or called as auger. This is ideal equipment for conveying the drilling cuttings from the solids control system to the first equipment.

Always there are 2 sets of screw conveyors needed, one is horizontal, for collecting the drilling cuttings from the solids control systems solids discharges. The other is a bit slope, to convey the cuttings into the waste management system. GN Solids Control provide such augers, and GNSC series augers have such benefits:

1.      GNSC screw conveyors are designed as 12ft sections, each section has same length. So it is easy for the end user to keep the spare parts. First section has the motor while the last section has the frame to hoist the screw. The sections in the middle could be disassembled per job site condition.

2.      GNSC screw conveyors use abrasive material for screws in order to ensure a longer service life.

3.      Connections between each section, the shells are connected with bolts, while at screws’ joints there are hanger bearings.

4.      There are covers used on the conveyors to avoid foreign bodies to enter the conveying system. Such application also good for safety control for operators.

5.      GN has another type of screw conveyor available, shell shaped like a hopper, that is used for receiving the materials from truck or something.

GN’s screw conveyors are always requested by customers together with GNLW363 decanter centrifuge and GNCD930 vertical cuttings dryers in a complete waste management system.
