How to Estimate the Effective Volume of A GN Tank

As GN is manufacturing more and more mud tanks every year, more and more customers from abroad are asking for GN Solids Control Co. to give his technical salutations for them. For a salesman, to understand know to calculate the effective of mud tanks in a fast way is very important. Customers will be impressed by a knowledgeable sale.

So today we are willing to share some ways to calculate the effective volume of GN tank.
The GN tank’s effective volume is determined by three factors: one is the inner effective length, the other one is the inner width, and the last one is the height of corrugated board. So the volume equals to the product of these three factors.
When it comes to container type tanks, the effective length is the same as the actual length of the container. However, for a skid type tank, the effective length should be deducted by 500mm because we need to take the skid parts into consideration.
If a centrifugal pump is fixed on the skid, the effective length should be calculated in this way:
1. The centrifugal pump is fixed horizontally
When a pump is fixed horizontally, this means it is align with the length direction of the tank, so a pump with 37kw motor can be seen as taking the length of 2.5m, and powers above 45kw should be deducted by 2.8m for other pumps. Besides, if there are two paralleled pumps, the tank length should be deducted by an extra 300mm.
2. The centrifugal pump is fixed vertically
But if the pump is fixed vertically to the direction of tank’s length direction, 37kw motor will be calculated as 1m and 45kw motor (or above) will be treated as 1.3m.
There is also another case we should fully understand, sometimes we will design the mud tank into a inclined type. Generally speaking, power of motor within 37kw should be calculated as 3m³;45kw and 55kw motors should be calculated as 3.5 m³; and 75kw motors should be calculated as 4m³.
The main products of GN Solids Control is Decanter Centrifuge, Shale Shaker, Shaker Screen, Vertical Cuttings Dryer etc.
